The spirit of creativity was alive and thriving as the 42nd Annual Ann Petta Grand Terrace Art Show welcomed residents, families, and artists for a vibrant two-day celebration on May 2nd and 3rd. The beloved community tradition once again proved why it remains a cornerstone event in the city’s cultural calendar. Sponsored by the Grand Terrace Historical and Cultural Committee, the show brought together more than 50 talented community artists, showcasing a wide range of mediums including watercolor, acrylic, and pencil. The event created an inviting and intimate atmosphere filled with color, creativity, and strong community spirit. Adding to the experience, local flavor was front and center. Catering was provided by Sinbad’s Coastal Kebab, offering guests a delicious culinary complement to the visual feast. Meanwhile, Smash And Go Lemonade delighted attendees with refreshing Grand Terrace-themed lemonades that added a fun and local touch to the event. A major highlight of the show was the display of student artwork, including impressive entries from Grand Terrace High School. Among the young artists represented were Alenah Fernandez, Brooklyn Brown, and Emma Sabino, each proudly contributing to the next generation of local creative talent. The event also recognized outstanding young artist Johnathan Torres, who stood out with more than five remarkable pieces spanning watercolor, acrylic, and pencil work. Torres was pictured alongside the city’s mayor and Jason Greeley, owner of Lowbrow Ink, whose leadership and involvement helped make the event another memorable success. “It’s always thrilling to see the new art from our community,” said Jason Greeley. “Johnathan Torres was by far most impressive with his entries this year, as well the Grand Terrace High School always brings the game when it comes to showing great talent.” Behind the scenes, the success of the show was driven by dedicated community leadership. Under the guidance of Jason Greeley and lead chair Stephanie Darwin, along with the support of the Historical Committee, the event was thoughtfully organized and beautifully executed. Their commitment continues to elevate the arts within the community year after year. The Greater Grand Terrace Chamber of Commerce was also present, supporting the event and helping connect local businesses with the thriving arts scene—demonstrating the powerful relationship between culture and commerce. From seasoned artists to emerging young creators, the 42nd Annual Ann Petta Art Show once again highlighted the richness of talent in Grand Terrace.
