REDLANDS >> This past weekend, hundreds attended the 7th Annual Children’s Bicycle Health and Safety Expo at the Redlands Mall parking lot, sponsored by Ride Yourself Fit, the Redlands Police Department, and Redlands Community Hospital. The free event included bicycle safety and course instruction information for children, and health and safety resources. Attendees brought their bicycles and helmets and were given the opportunity to practice their safety skills in a bicycle safety course. Local participating organizations included: Inland Empire Health Plan, Cyclery USA, Don’s Bicycles of Redlands, Yucaipa Bike Shop, Redlands Fire Department, and Redlands Police Motor and Bicycle Officers, who taught children bicycle safety. Bicycle licenses, registration, and fingerprinting were provided by Redlands Police Department volunteers. Ride Yourself Fit is a family-friendly cycling club which is open to all. The club is focused on fun, fitness, and fellowship. Beginning to advanced riders will find what they need to start or improve their riding on Saturday morning rides. You will also find other events such as Walk Yourself Fit and Eat Yourself Fit groups. Family rides are the first Sunday of every month, and all are welcome.
