Homeless and low income individuals and families are invited to attend the “Project Connect” outreach event on March 5. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at El Garces Train Depot, 950 Front St., in Needles. County officials say the purpose of the project is to “provide a centralized location where non-profit medical and social service providers collaborate to provide services to low-income and homeless individuals and families,” according to a release. The event will provide homeless and low-income individuals with free dental care, family support, housing support services, hygiene products, medical care, mental health services, substance abuse treatment, SSI information, legal advice, employment services and more.
