The City will begin replacing safety mulch at eight park playgrounds beginning Monday, Feb. 1. The playground equipment will be closed during the installation process. All work is expected to be complete by Feb. 15.
Work will take place on the following schedule:

Brookside Park – Feb. 1-3
Community Park – Feb. 3 and 4
Crafton Park – Feb. 4 and 7
Ford Park – Feb. 7 and 8
Jennie Davis Park – Feb. 8
Sylvan Park – Feb. 9-11
Texonia Park – Feb. 14 and 15
On Dec. 21, the City Council approved an agreement with Turboscape Inc., for provision and installation of IPEMA Certified Playground Mulch at various City playgrounds in an amount not to exceed $85,505 for the initial one-year term, with an option to extend by two additional one-year terms for a total amount not-to-exceed $256,515.
The City of Redlands maintains 12 playground areas within its park system. Each park playground is outfitted with IPEMA safety mulch surrounding the playground equipment. Staff conducts routine inspections of the playground facilities and determined that eight of the City's playgrounds required new mulch.
