The City of Redlands will be sending telephone notifications to residents in cases of emergencies.

The City of Redlands recently implemented an Emergency Notification System which will be used to rapidly send telephone notifications to all residents and businesses within an affected area in the event of an emergency. Residents and businesses are urged to register cell phone and VoIP numbers to include in the emergency database. Commonly referred to as “Reverse 911,” the system will automatically call listed and unlisted telephone numbers within the area affected by the emergency and deliver a recorded message. If the phone line is busy, the system will attempt to redial those telephone numbers to make contact. If an answering machine is reached, the emergency message will be left on the machine. Cell phone or Voice over IP (VoIP) phone numbers are not currently included in the system database. If you wish to be contacted on your cell of VoIP phone, you must register these phone numbers online at http://www.cityofredlands.org/register. Note that this service is offered for City of Redlands residents and businesses only. Anyone with questions regarding the Emergency Notification System may contact Emergency Operations Manager Fay Glass by email at fglass@cityofredlands.org or by phone (909) 335 4705.
