Police are seeking the public’s help to provide information leading to the identity of a suspect following an apparent kidnapping attempt last week.
The victim, a 24-year-old female, reported that she was walking north on Center Street shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, when she was approached by a white minivan. The driver attempted to talk to her before pulling over near Center Street and Center Place and getting out of the van. He then grabbed the victim by the wrists and attempted to get her into the van.
The victim said the man released her and drove away after she threatened to call police. She then walked to a nearby apartment complex where she reported the incident to the apartment manager who called police.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 20s or early 30s, with a short goatee. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was driving a white minivan, possibly a Honda Odyssey with a handicap placard in the rear window.
