The Redlands Symphony has received a $100,000 challenge matching grant from the Quest Foundation to help the organization sustain its music education programs for young people. The Symphony will receive $1 from Quest for every $2 it raises between now and Aug. 4, 2015. A total of $200,000 must be raised by the Symphony in order to claim the full $100,000 match. Quest, which is headquartered in the Bay Area, is a private family foundation whose focus is improving the lives of youth. “We are extremely grateful to Quest for their confidence in us as demonstrated by this most generous gift,” said Symphony Chair David Maupin in making the announcement, “Quest and the Redlands Symphony share a commitment to enriching the lives of young people by providing education programs that improve their lives now and hopefully serve as a positive influence as they move forward in life. OrKIDstra live concerts for Redlands, Yucaipa and Calimesa school children and our annual Family concert are at the forefront of providing accessible music education in this region. It’s a program we are very proud of and one that this grant will help us sustain for years to come.” “It’s now up to our friends and supporters in the community to help us meet this challenge and raise the matching funds needed to claim the $100,000,” explained Redlands Symphony President & CEO Paul Ideker. “Every dollar contributed between now and next August will be counted toward the challenge match. This is the perfect time for donors to show how much their Redlands Symphony means to them and how much they believe in the importance of music education for our area’s youngsters.” The Redlands Symphony is an independent non-profit organization registered with the federal government and operating under its guidelines. The Symphony welcomes the financial support of its patrons and friends. Contributions are tax deductible to the maximum allowable by law and go towards the presentation of the Symphony’s annual concert series and various music education programs offered to enrich local school children from the Redlands and Yucaipa-Calimesa School Districts.
