REDLANDS>> This year marks 24 years of the Spark of Love Toy Drive. During this season of giving, the Redlands Fire Department will again join firefighters across Southern California in the collection and distribution of new toys and sports equipment for children in need. The Spark of Love Toy Drive collected and distributed more than 500,000 toys last year. Each year’s success is a result of various communities and organizations coming together in the spirit of giving. The Spark of Love program is a part of the Redlands Fire Department’s mission to preserve the past and protect the future. The positive interaction with the Fire Department offers a way to build goodwill within the community and provide children with positive role models. Through Spark of Love, Redlands Firefighters were able to help 123 families last year, including more than 800 young people. If you would like to participate, unwrapped toys and sports equipment may be dropped off at the following locations: Fire Station 261, located at 525 E. Citrus Ave.; Fire Station 262, located at 1690 Garden St.; Fire Station 263, located at 10 W. Pennsylvania Ave.; Fire Station 264, located at 1270 W. Park Ave. and the Fire Department Administrative Office, located at 35 Cajon St. Suite No. 12. The Redlands Fire Department and KFROG will team up for collection efforts at the Citrus Plaza and Mountain Grove shopping centers during the month of December. The next Toy Drive Collection Stop will be at Citrus Plaza, featuring Kelli Green, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. [END]
